Pat Sullivan Ph.D.
Director of Strategic Initiatives
In her role as Director of Strategic Initiatives, Pat brings to IDEA more than twenty years of experience in higher education. Born in Philadelphia, Pat was recruited to Omaha to work at the Creighton University Medical Center and the University of Nebraska Medical Center as a medical sonographer, later earning a faculty post at UNMC. She went on to serve at a private college for 20 years where she created an allied health division and retired as dean. In her tenure, Pat developed 14 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. She has served as a faculty member, chair, dean and program innovator, with extensive experience in regional and healthcare education accreditation. Pat holds degrees at every level of higher education, including certificates in Radiologic Technology (Crozer Chester Medical Center) and Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Thomas Jefferson University Hospital). She holds a B.S. in Radiologic Technology from Creighton University, an M.A. in history from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and a Ph.D. in Medical Humanities from the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) where she focused on the history and philosophy of technology and biomedical ethics. Pat resides in Omaha and in her free time she can be found with her camera, her Kindle, or Kula, her golden retriever.
