This past spring, IDEA staff gathered feedback from our partners and constituents on what they envision to be an ideal learning opportunity. The result is a series of workshops held around the country, with broad-based learning and skill-building opportunities related to evaluation and assessment.
Our next workshop has been scheduled and we invite you to join us in Houston on February 24 and 25 for a day and a half of sessions that will take a deeper look at IDEA solutions and industry best practices that provide a comprehensive picture of learning and how they can be applied to individual institutions. Graciously hosted by the University of Houston - Downtown, the university setting is prime for learning and the sharing of ideas!
Day 1 will focus on providing hands-on practice and assisting participants with understanding, implementing, interpreting, and applying the IDEA Student Ratings of Instruction (SRI) system. Essentially everything you wanted to know about the IDEA SRI reports. Faculty, administrators, faculty development and assessment personnel will all leave the workshop ready to utilize and train others on your campus to best use the IDEA SRI.
Day 2 will focus on creating and implementing a comprehensive and balanced faculty evaluation based on best practices. This half-day professional development workshop is for higher education leaders who have a desire to enhance their skills related to faculty evaluation and how it intersects with faculty development. Participants will leave the workshop understanding how to best use various types of data from the evaluation process in fair and balanced ways while also informing high-impact faculty development planning.
Registration for the IDEA Workshop in Houston is open. We hope to see you there!
