Dave knew he was going to be a computer programmer in the 6th grade when a teacher from another class pulled him into the lab to explain to her students how to use the new Apple II computers. The rest is history. He earned a B.S. in Computer Science from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN and immediately became a developer at a consulting company in Indianapolis. From there he moved to Chicago where he met his wife, Christie. Both Christie and Dave felt there should be more to life than commuting into the city 5 days a week, so they bought an off-grid horse ranch in Montana. Christie and Dave have no human children, but they have numerous 4-footed “kids” in their family. In his spare time, Dave enjoys tinkering with renewable energy including solar ovens, solar concentrators, wind, and water power.
